Memory

The team focuses part of its research on working memory and familiarity. Benoit Lemaire and Sophie Portrat are developing computational models to describe working memory, particularly the nature of verbal representations and the processes that support memory performance. Stéphane Rousset conducts research on subjective memory indicators linked to familiarity, and aims to develop a nonverbal test of episodic memory that overcomes the language limitations of tests routinely used, particularly in geriatrics.

Céline Souchay, in parallel with her research on autobiographical and collective memory, is developing links between justice and memory, and leads a Memory and Justice research group within the CNRS Memory theme-based research network. In addition, Jérôme Clerc is examining voluntary memory in children with typical or atypical development, and the use of transferable strategies in new tasks.

This research is supported by the Arc Alpin Memory Resource Research Center (CMRR) team led by Mathilde Sauvée, which tests hypotheses against everyday practice, pre-validates tests, and recruits patients when necessary.
