Conscience, Mémoire et MétaCognition (CoMMet)
The SIMPLES project aims to develop a new computational model of the cognitive system dedicated to the processing and storage of written language information. This model seeks to bridge a long-standing divide between the fields of language and memory by simulating a broad range of tasks traditionally used either by memory specialists or by written language researchers. More specifically, the SIMPLES model will account for how different representational levels of linguistic information—phonological, orthographic, syntactic, and semantic—are processed, stored, and interact under the attentional constraints of working memory.
