Metamemory in healthy aging : AGEFOK

Research

This ANR financed project aims to better understand changes in metacognition associated with the aging process, focussing on one well-used paradigm, the feeling of knowing (FOK) paradigm.  Using a citizen science approach inspired by our Seniors for Science programme (link: https://www.msh-alpes.fr/actualites/seniors-science) we aim to share our project with as many people over the age of 60 as possible.  The hypothesis is that subtle but detectable changes in metacognition in memory tasks can be detected, which will tell us not only about the healthy aging process and memory function, but also how metacognition is organised in the brain.
