Performance monitoring in target shooting

Conscience, Mémoire et MétaCognition (CoMMet)

Metacognitive monitoring in children have been much studied in memory tasks since pioneering work by Flavell in the 70’s. More recently, researchers have investigated monitoring in team sports, showing that it obeys part of the same rules than metamemory like for example over- and underconfidence biases. This project aims to investigate monitoring (prospective and retrospective judgments of learning) in target shooting, which will allow us to better understand the links between metacognition and motor activity in an individual sport which requires a high level of concentration.
