The aim of the Former à apprendre project is to assess the impact of metacognitive tools (such as a better understanding of how memory, learning and concentration work) on the return to training and employment of long-term and low-skilled jobseekers, by improving their self-confidence and their ability to memorise and learn. An initial pilot phase tested the intervention of 14 1.5-hour workshops over 7 weeks with 2 groups of 11 and 7 jobseekers, with a highly successful 100% return to vocational training. The experimental phase will replicate this pilot phase with 204 jobseekers between October 2021 and June 2022.
This research-action is directed by Sophie Portrat and Marie Prévost and led by Mailys Faraut as project manager at La Fabrique à Neurones.
The project is funded by the French Ministry of Labour's Plan Investissement Compétence, in partnership with Pôle emploi in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region.
