In 2015, I have created the "Laboratory for Oral Language Acquisition", LOLA at the University of Potsdam which I lead for almost 7 years.
I am also a Research Collaborator at Haskins Laboratories (New Haven, USA) and Laboratoire de Phonétique at UQAM (Montreal, Québec).
I am also a Research Collaborator at Haskins Laboratories (New Haven, USA) and Laboratoire de Phonétique at UQAM (Montreal, Québec).
I am a developmental researcher at the Laboratoire de Sciences Cognitives et Psycholinguistique (ENS, Paris) and an invited researcher at LPNC.
My research focuses on the development of spoken language fluency in the first decade of life in comparison to adulthood.
In past years, I have investigated the development of coarticulation, an essential feature of spoken language fluency. Learning to coarticulate entails children to develop correspondences between audio(visually) perceived speech targets, their own speech motor and acoustic realizations in relation to the native lexicon and phonological grammar. In this context, my research agenda seeks to:
(1) illuminate how developing interactions between speech motor control, perception, lexicon, phonology, and later reading support spoken language fluency in typically developing children,
(2) identify and potentially predict irregular relationships in children at risk for developing speech and/or language impairment,
(3) use this knowledge to tailor teaching methods and remediation programs together with practitians and teachers.
More recently, I also interested in the development of early bias in infants' production and attention.
