PhD Thesis
Title : Decision-making and metacognitive processes in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder : The role of the antero-ventral subthalamic nucleus

The aim of this thesis is to study the role of the antero-ventral subthalamic nucleus in perceptual decision-making (perceptual consciousness), value-based decision-making and associated metacognition.
This study uses multi-modal methods such as behavioral paradigms, EEG and local field potentials (LFP) recordings in OCD patients treated by STN Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). We will take advantage of the recruited patients within an international ongoing study – Eqoloc, driven by CHU Grenoble (M Polosan, PI).
This study will contribute to a better understanding of the cortico-STN (associative-limbic) implication in decision making processes and metacognition. it will improve knowledge on OCD physiopathology and will have implications for the DBS management in this disabling medical condition.
