Notre perception de l’espace conditionne nos mouvements, et donc un large éventail d’activités humaines. Ainsi, toute perception erronée affectera nos interactions avec l’environnement, comme par exemple notre aptitude à coordonner nos actions, à identifier correctement des objets ou des événements qui se déroulent dans cet environnement, ou à maintenir notre stabilité posturale. Ces perceptions erronées peuvent être des réponses naturelles à des situations non écologiques créées par les nouvelles technologies comme les moyens de transport ou la simulation. Elles peuvent être aussi le fait de déficiences des systèmes sensoriels ou de l’intégration sensorielle au niveau cortical. L’objectif général est d’étudier ces ‘erreurs’ perceptives, les causes et situations qui les favorisent, ainsi que les moyens et conditions qui permettent de les limiter.
