ANR LACIS - Light Adaptive Color Image Sensor
The goal of the LACIS’s project is to build a new generation of color image sensors that is not based on global sensitivity but rather that has sensitivity driven locally. Our sensor imitate the human retina and its local adaptive property which allows the human vision to encode high dynamic range despite the low encoding range provided by neurons. The sensor should also be able to process color without distorsion. Several color filter arrays were design and mounted on the sensor. Preliminary results shows the validity of the approach.
